George Hill grew up on Van Horne Street in Sudbury. He now lives in Lively with his wife on their 130 acre farm. His love of photography started at a young age; at 16 he began to print contacts in a darkroom in his family's home. He enjoys taking pictures of the beauty he sees in everyday life, taking pictures of urban landscapes and the natural world around us. Up until recently, he took photos with black and white large format film and 35mm film. He has now taken up digital photography.

George was an educator during his professional career, and his love of education and art can be seen in his photography. He instilled the knowledge in his students that scientific discoveries can be used to protect the planet and benefit everybody. His pictures convey this message, whether it's a leaf floating in a pond or weeds growing out of cracks at abandoned buildings.
