Barbara and Richard Edwards
Presented by Artists on Elgin
September 1 - 28

IMPRESSIONS OF THE NORTH is open to the public at Artists on Elgin for the month of September. The reception will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1 to 4 pm.

Barbara and Richard Edwards interpret Impressions of the North in fused glass and original hand-printed serigraphs. The title of the exhibition comes from the definition of the word impression, “the idea or feeling of an area or object that is formed without conscious thought… a mark impressed upon the surface of something” explains Barbara.

Barbara Edwards explores the forms and light found in nature through fused glass. Her work demonstrates the hot fluidity of the glass and the ways in which it captures and influences sunlight. Barbara’s work often includes themes of local wildlife and vegetation.

Richard Edwards’ serigraphs are an intuitive expression of Northern Ontario, capturing a moment in time filled with colour and natural light. His colour palette expresses the essence of the northern scenery.

The public is encouraged to attend the opening reception where Barbara and Richard will be present to discuss their work.

Artists on Elgin is located at 168 Elgin Street, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
