Emerging Artist Enters Science North With A Powerful Message

The We Are Project is on display at Science North March through June 2017

SUDBURY, ON (March 21, 2017)- Aédan Daniel Charest is the newest Emerging Artist to enter the Sunwalk at Science North. Aédan is a photographer that explores individuality, diversity, LGBTQ2 issues, gender equality, mental health and more. The We Are Project started in June of 2016 and it highlights the contributions of LGBTQ2 people and their allies in northern communities.

The project features familiar Sudbury figures, as well as some unfamiliar faces. The main message of this photography series is that members of the LGBTQ2 community and their allies are and always have made up, and will continue to make up a major part of our community.

You are invited to view the work hung in Science North's Sunwalk, as well as get to know the community and the many gifts its diversity brings.

The Emerging Artist Program is organized by Artists on Elgin in partnership with Science North. The program aims to provide a space for emerging artists of any age to display their work in a professional setting.

Artists on Elgin is a project of its parent organization, The Northern Artist Gallery, where artists can exhibit, promote and sell their work in an attractive and professional gallery space. Artists on Elgin aims to build mutually beneficial partnerships between the artists and the community by addressing the business and marketing needs of the local art industry. Artists on Elgin is the ideal place to find that perfect gift for any occasion. Visit us online at, or visit our Facebook Page.

Artists on Elgin is located at 168 Elgin Street, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
