"There is no cost to enter, and we want pictures from all ages and skill levels, explained Courtney Natale, Business Promotions Coordinator for The Northern Artist Gallery/Artists on Elgin. There are over 300 lakes in Greater Sudbury, and our goal is to be able to feature as many different ones as we can."

The photo contest which is created into a calendar is now in its 8th year, a contest which has proved to be very popular among Sudbury's budding and professional photographers. The contest aims to raise awareness and appreciation for the natural beauty of Sudbury's water bodies, while encouraging the public to get involved and support the arts.

The Picture Our Lakes Photography Contest is open to photographers of all ages and abilities. All photos must have been taken within the City of Greater Sudbury, and must feature some element of water. Photos can be submitted in one of six categories: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Youth (under 18) and Undiscovered Lakes.
