Artists on Elgin is excited to welcome award-winning still life artist Carole Rodrigue for her solo exhibit entitled Seeing Red. This exhibit is an exploration of red in contemporary realism and will be on display throughout the month of April at Artists on Elgin. The public is invited to meet Carole during her opening reception on Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Carole explains: "I am very passionate about my art. My creations are painted to reflect mood and interesting lighting, but most of all, to reflect the beauty in the world around us."

Although she is very adept with various mediums such as acrylic, charcoal, graphite, and pastel, Carole's preferred medium is oil. Carole recreates realistic original art. Her still life pieces are known for capturing a dramatic element and interesting light, and those who view her art in person often comment on the feeling projected through the reflections and light she captures.

"In order to develop as an artist, continual learning and studying is required. The artistic journey is a lifelong learning experience and the realist movement requires that one strive to develop sensibility toward subject matter and life, an appreciation for beauty, perception, skill, and technique," continues Carole.

Seeing Red will be on display for the month of April. Artists on Elgin invites the public to come in and meet the artists during the opening reception on April 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
