SUDBURY, ON – February 25, 2013– Artists on Elgin is excited to welcome artist Marcie Breit for her solo exhibit entitled Perspectives of the North Shore. This exhibit will be on display throughout the month of March at Artists on Elgin. The public is invited to meet Marcie during her opening reception on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Marcie explains: "the power of landscape art evokes a rudimentary response that draws the viewer to a place that is, at the same time, stimulating, tranquil, and visually beautiful. The inherent beauty of nature is a common denominator that elicits memories and reflections, while rousing the fundamental senses of our beings."

Born in Kirkland Lake, Marcie now resides in Little Current, Ontario, and works with acrylic, watercolour, and pastel media to produce original paintings. Her work captivates the beauty that is pervasive in the Northern Ontario landscape.

"I'm inspired by the scenic diversity in areas such as Manitoulin Island, Georgian Bay, and Lake Huron's North Channel and I often incorporate these locations in my work," continues Marcie.

Perspectives of the North Shore will be on display for the month of March. Artists on Elgin invites the public to come in and meet the artists during the opening reception on March 2 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Artists on Elgin is located at 168 Elgin Street, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
