Walls, Windows, and Doors
Casual Observations in Passing

SUDBURY, ON – March 20–Artists on Elgin is proud to announce that their exhibit for the month of April will comprise of the work of photographer, Douglas Bornn. This show will be limited to things Bornn often sees throughout his walks in the surrounding downtown Sudbury area; walls, windows, and doors. The opening reception will be held on Saturday April 7, from 1pm-4pm.

“Walls often bear witness to previous lives when they might have contained a window or a door now gone but still lingering on in outline, a shade from the past”.

The fifteen city photographs which will be on display represent much of Doug’s compilations since switching to a digital camera and the use of color. Looking with no expectation, many of these photographs are examples of the environs that calls his attention.

“For this show, I’ve limited my subjects to those things I most often see as I walk about- walls, windows, and doors. Usually, the older the better; the more used and character-ridden the more attractive I seem to find them”.

Artists on Elgin encourages and welcomes the public to an opening reception which will include an ‘Artist Talk’ at 2pm where you can pose any questions you may have regarding the pieces and process to Doug’s photography. The exhibit itself will run from April 2-30.

Artists on Elgin is located at 168 Elgin Street, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
